Two Colorado teams have traveled across the nation to take on wrestlers from other states at the AAU Scholastic Duals. This year event has 162 teams in the four divisions - community 1, community 2, development and all-star. The seven day tournament is being held at the ESPN World Wide Sports Center at the Disney Complex in Orlando, Florida.

Team Colorado - a team of 14 high school wrestlers from around the towns in Colorado, have come together to join forces to compete in the All - Star division of what has become to known as the Disney Duals. The Colorado team will have seven duals in 2 days in round robin pool rounds. Then how they finish in the pool will determine what bracket and placement they will be competing for. With 51 teams in this division, each match / dual can be a barn burner. Pool rounds began on Sunday, June 28th with bracket rounds begin on Tuesday, June 30th.

Team Colorado has had two days of wrestling under their belts going 3 - 1 on day one and 2 -1 on day two to finish 5 -2 in their Pool A duals. This is good enough for Colorado to take second place in the pool with only the number seed of the tournament Young Guns Black / PA  going 7 - 0 ahead of them. While placing in the top two of Pool A, Team Colorado moves into the Gold Bracket for the tournament with 13 other all-star teams going for the 1st place team title. Day one results - Match #1 Round 1 - Team Colorado defeated Ohio Storm 38-17, Match #2 Round 2 - Metrowest United WC defeated Team Colorado 30-25, Match #3 Round 3 - Team Colorado defeated Valley Boyz 53-21, Match #4 Round 4 - Team Colorado defeated Children of the Corn 46-20. Day two results - Match #5 Round 5 - Team Colorado defeated Beachboys 36-26, Match #6 Round 6 - Young Guns Black 2015 defeated Team Colorado 75-0, Match #7 Round 7 - Team Colorado defeated Nebraska White 38-35.

With the start of day three at the AAU Disney Duals, Team Colorado faced Brawlers Elite Thunder in the preliminary round of the 16 team bracket D. Their opponent the Brawlers from Pennsylvania were the top team in Pool G with a 6 - 0 record. The day started as Colorado wrestled at 4 pm in the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex / Jostens Building. The outcome was not what Colorado was looking for as they lost 58 - 6 to a much stronger team. Plus with an injury to Kolsen Welham at 160 pounds Colorado started in the hole giving up 6 points. With the lost Colorado moved to the consolation side of the bracket and received a bye. 

Colorado would restart wrestling at 8 am on July 1 against Ohio Mafia. Team Colorado would need a win to move forward and be in the top eight teams in the all-star division. Ohio came out like gang busters and ran away with the dual with a 66 - 0 score. Colorado was able to keep up with Ohio in each of the matches but not get ahead in points. With the loss, Colorado finished tied for 9th place, a great finish for the team out of the 52 teams in the bracket.This tournament and division is one of the toughest in the national as teams have champions and multi-champions in each of the 14 weight classes. Plus having a number of seniors on the teams that continue to wrestle in their college careers in the near future.

Adams City wrestling coaches have brought their high school team to do battle in the community one division against 39 other teams. Wrestling begins in the Pool bracket - round-robin duals for the first two days beginning on Monday, June 29th.

Adams City first two days of completion were rounds of tough duals as they gave up 24 points to forfeits. Missing four weight classes, it is tough to win a dual. Adams City is missing the top four weight classes - 182, 195, 220 and 285. Their dual results are listed below.
