Spearfish, S.D. & Kingsport, Tenn. (March 14, 2022) – It is setting up to be a busy weekend in the wrestling world as athletes prepare to take down their competition on the mat. On March 18 and 19, AAU Wrestling will be holding the Black Hills Folkstyle World Championships in Spearfish, South Dakota and the AAU Spring Youth Nationals in Kingsport, Tennessee.
In the 18th year of the event, the Black Hills Nationals will see more than 1,000 wrestlers travel to the Donald E. Young Center at Black Hills State University. 25 states will be represented, from coast to coast.
Last year saw wrestlers from Hawaii & Alaska. This year currently has wrestlers representing California to Massachusetts and everywhere in between.
The tournament will be divided into two sessions. Session 1 on Friday, March 18 will showcase the Masters, Seniors, High School, and Girls divisions. Session 2 will start at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 19 with the Tots, Midgets, and Schoolboy divisions. The session will finish with the Bantams, and Novice divisions. Medals will be rewarded to the 1st through 8th place finishers in each division.
Only an hour away from Mount Rushmore, Black Hills is a destination for history and a chance for wrestlers to write their own history.

Also in its 18th year, the AAU Spring Youth Nationals will bring together some of the best wrestlers. More than 500 participants will travel to Dobyns Bennett High School in Kingsport, Tennessee. 20 states will be represented.
Tennessee’s Top 100 wrestlers and Grand Champions will be participating against some of the best wrestlers from around the country. For the boys divisions, they will be divided into tot, bantam, midget, junior, & Middle School. Girls will be divided into K-2nd grade, 3-5 grade, and 6-8 grade.
Kingsport, Tennessee was largely developed by the Eastman Kodak Company, and this weekend wrestlers will look to capture a Kodak moment and capture a national championship of their own.
