PREVIEW: AAU Wrestling Black Hills Nationals and AAU Spring Youth Nationals

It will be a busy weekend for wrestlers in the northern half of the nation. The weekend of March 19 and 20, AAU Wrestling will hold both the Black Hills Nationals in Spearfish, South Dakota and the AAU Spring Youth Nationals.

ORLANDO, Fla. - It will be a busy weekend for wrestlers in the northern half of the nation. The weekend of March 19 and 20, AAU Wrestling will hold both the Black Hills Nationals in Spearfish, South Dakota and the AAU Spring Youth Nationals. The weekend will bring more than 1,100 wrestlers to battle it out on the mat.
 
The Black Hills Nationals will be held for its 17th year as the AAU World Folkstyle Championships on Friday, March 19 and Saturday, March 20. Weigh-in will start for all divisions at 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday in the Spearfish High School Boy’s Locker Room. Session 1 will follow at 3 p.m., consisting of Masters, Seniors, High School and Girls.
 
Session 2 will begin on Saturday at 8 a.m. with Tots, Midgets and Schoolboy, and Session 3 will start at 1 p.m. with Bantams and Novice. Medals will be awarded for first to eight place in all divisions.

AAU Spring Youth Nationals will take place at the TNT Sports Complex in Kingsport, Tennessee on March 19-20. All wrestlers will weigh-in on Friday, March 19 at the Meadow Marriott from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wrestlers will compete on Saturday with Tots, Girls, Bantams and Midgets starting at 8 a.m. Junior and Middle School divisions will follow at 1:30 p.m.
 
Individual awards and team awards will be handed out, and the top three in each weight class will qualify for the AAU All-American tournament.
