FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (June 12, 2024) – The AAU Wrestling Scholastic Duals are bringing the action to a new city this year. The largest and toughest dual meet tournament in the world is heading to South Florida for the first year.
Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida will play host as athletes pack their wrestling singlet, swimsuit, and suntan lotion. About 2,500 wrestlers will get to enjoy the beaches of Florida, but this is a business trip. Teams will be competing for a chance to earn AAU National Championships.
Teams will be traveling from 16 states and every coast of the country to see if they have what it takes to earn an AAU title. For 26 years previous, athletes have been competing at the AAU Wrestling Scholastic Duals. This year teams will look to add their name to the history books for the first time or defend their title as AAU National Champions.
One hundred forty-two (142) teams will be going head-to-head on the mats. Teams will be split into multiple divisions: District All-Star, Developmental, Community 1, Community 2, Girls All-Star, and Girls Progressive. The action will commence with District All-Star, Developmental, Girls All-Star and Girls Progressive on Friday, June 21 and finish on June 23. Community 1 and Community 2 will bring the final test to the mats on Monday, June 24 and conclude the tournament on June 26.

We will be celebrating the most titled American wrestler ever, John Smith, and we will be teaming up with the Wounded Warrior Project this year.
In a special ceremony being held during the 2024 AAU Wrestling Scholastic Duals, one of the greatest athletes of the 20th Century, John Smith, will be inducted into the AAU Wrestling Hall of Fame. Inducting Smith into the AAU Wrestling Hall of Fame will be his Oklahoma State teammate and member of the AAU Wrestling Hall of Fame class of 2023, Tom Erikson.
