Wrestlers are prepared to start the year off in Ralston, Nebraska with the 2025 AAU Winter Youth Nationals

RALSTON, Neb. (January 3, 2025) – It’s time to heat up the winter on the wrestling mats as competitors Challenge For The Chain at the 2025 AAU Wrestling Winter Youth Nationals.
There is no better way to start off the new year than going head-to-head for an AAU National Championship. That is exactly what wrestlers from around the country will do in Ralston, Nebraska when they take to the mat inside the Liberty First Credit Union Arena. Competitors and fans from all over the nation will fill the arena on January 4-5.
Last year’s competition saw 1,238 participants go to battle for a championship chain. This year approximately 1,400 wrestlers will have the opportunity to start the 2025 year off in a major way.
Boys and girls will be competing with divisions split up by age: Tots (6u), Bantam (7 & 8), Midget (boys 9-10, girls 9-11), Novice (boys 11 & 12), School Boy (13-15) and School Girl (12-15). Champions in each weight class will earn the Winter Nationals Chain, while trophies will be presented to the 2nd and 3rd place finishers.
Once all age groups have been completed and all wrestling has concluded on Sunday, there will be Team Awards presented as well. The team awards breakdown is listed below:
Class A: 18 or More (score only the top 18)
Class B: 13-17 Wrestlers (score only the top 13)
Class C: 8-12 Wrestlers (score only the top 8)
Saturday, January 4 will be the first day of competition with the Bantam and School Boy groups starting us off at 8:00 am. This year will see defending champions make their return to keep their championship chain as well as some new wrestlers ready to make a name for themselves.
Angry Fish and Contenders Wrestling Academy both finished with a 5-0 record last year and Sebolt Wrestling Academy, for a second year in a row, finished with the most total match points. Who will stand on top of the leaderboards this year?
